Climate change research laced with politics - analyst

With the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s credibility in question, the UN looks to create a new panel to review its work. Pat Michaels of the Cato Institute says the new panel is unlikely to be objective.

“There is not such thing as independent panel when it comes to the United Nations,” he said. “This intergovernmental panel on climate change, the senior authors that write these reports that are under investigation are appointed by their governments. This have politics laced throughout it.”

IPCC accepted earlier that its 2007 report that received the Nobel Prize had exaggerated the pace of Himalayan glaciers melting process and also overstated the level to which the Netherlands in below the sea level, Reuters reported.
