Education for Jordan's bedouins
09 Sept 09
According to the United Nations, about 75 million children are currently not receiving any kind of schooling, which is why Tuesday has been declared international literacy day.
Estimates suggest 82% of the worlds population is literate, but this means 18% - or over 1 billion people - are illiterate.
In the Arab world, Jordan is among the most literate states, but among the nomadic people such as the Bedouins, illteracy is still high.
Nisreen El-Shamayleh reports from Al Jafr on one man's efforts to bring about change.
